300,000 aging Dallas traffic signs replaced for aging Dallas population

The new signs will be larger and come with Wether's Originals dispensers.

Each new sign will also come with a Werther's Original dispenser.
Each new sign will also come with a Werther's Original dispenser.

According to this article, older people can't see so well. As such, Dallas will be replacing 300,000 traffic signs with newer models. The new signs, mostly street signs, will have larger letters and be more reflective. They'll also last a decade or more, which is at least three years longer than the previous signs.

The question is, however, will your eyesight last that long before signs have to be three feet tall and 20 feet long?

Great. So when our elderly drivers break a hip after hitting some pothole in our lousy streets, they'll be able to tell 911 where they are.

Hey, hey, old people aren't the only ones that enjoy a Werther's Original here and there.

I loved those things when I was young(er).

David Gates, says:

I'm 41 and I can't read half of the signs in this town after dark. It's not the size so much, but the fact that the reflective paint has worn off of so many of them. They seem to just soak up headlights.
