DISD increases measures to stop grade changing
Focusing on the grade changing that surrounds student-athletes in its 22 high schools, Dallas ISD is considering implementing a number of plans to end this practice. In addition to possibly hiring a compliance eligibility officer, the district will also move to electronic grading and put together a monitoring and auditing system.
DISD Superintendent Michael Hinojosa last year stripped the South Oak Cliff basketball team of its 2006 state championship after grade changing became obvious. He has now called for a review of the school's 2005 and 2007 state championships, which should be released in a few weeks.
