DFW area homebuilders hit hard by economic woes
... just like homebuilders elsewhere.
Homebuilders in the Dallas-Fort Worth area are being hit hard by the sluggish housing market, with dozens of builders calling it quits and exploring other employment options.
In addition to the soft market (i.e., not many people interested in buying), homebuilders have an additional problem: they can't get financing to build out their homes.
Not much hope on the horizon, either: additional homebuilder bankruptcies and business closures are in the short-term cards, according to the experts.
