Heath plans Terry Park groundbreaking
The City of Heath will hold a groundbreaking ceremony on Thursday, Jan. 29 at Terry Park, site of a major renovation. The park is located on the shores of Lake Ray Hubbard at the end of Terry Lane (which description has kind of an ominous sound to it, don't you think?), and the renovations will include a two-lane boat ramp sporting two "courtesy docks"; walking trails; landscaping; lighting features; a new restroom; and paved parking with erosion control. (Hm.)
All this is being made possible by a grant from the Texas Parks & Wildlife Commission, city funds and contributions from the developers of The Peninsula and Le Château.
Following the 5 p.m. groundbreaking, city councilfolk will reconvene at City Hall in special executive session.

John Meyer, says:
<p>Heath City Secretary Stephanie Galanides confirms that the erosion control item mentioned above relates to a retaining wall adjacent to the parking area: "The retaining wall will serve to prevent silt runoff onto other properties and into Lake Ray Hubbard as required by the City’s storm water management program."</p>
<p>Stephanie goes on to comment that there’s "a bit of a drop in the terrain right about there. It (the retaining wall) will also serve as a landscape buffer for neighboring properties."</p>
