The Coppell Community Garden organization wants everyone to become acquainted with their new board members for 2009. They've even provided a photograph so you'll be able to put faces with the names.
These are the folks responsible for leading the organization’s activities and programs this year, and ensuring that the group continues to grow and succeed in its undertakings.
Speaking of which, in 2008 the group donated over 13,000 pounds of fresh produce grown in the Coppell Community Garden to Metrocrest Social Services, while providing Coppell young people with 1,164 hours of hands-on youth action and service learning opportunities.
The Coppell Farmers Market boasted their most-ever number of producers, growers and shoppers in 2008, and are planning for an equally successful showing this year when they open for business in April.
Here are the board members for 2009:
President - Karen Pearsall
Vice President - Trudy White
Treasurer - Jan Hiser
Secretary – Christina Kinser
Garden Chair - Cindy Geppert
Coppell Farmers Market Chair - Marilyn Horton
Sustainable Education Chair - Ed Eaton
Youth Chair - Holly Hubenak
Don't forget, the Community Garden is hosting their annual sign-up event on Saturday, Feb. 7.
