Overnight freezing rain causes slow commutes, school closures
Yesterday's cold weather hysteria is nothing compared to today: Overnight freezing rain and continuing freezing temperatures are wreaking havoc on pretty much the entire Dallas-Fort Worth area.
A quarter-inch of ice has accumulated on many roads, making commutes very slow, even with with crews laying sand down. DART has suspended rail service between downtown Garland and Mockingbird (aka suck it, Blue Line commuters!) and also south of 8th and Corinth on both lines (guess that means Plano and Richardson commuters are the most important).
And, of course, most area school districts have canceled classes for the day -- name a district, any district, and it's probably closed. To be sure, though, check this list.
