17Seventeen McKinney in Uptown pre-certified to Gold LEED level by the U. S. Green Building Council
DALLAS Real estate company Granite Properties announced today that it has been notified that its latest Class AA office building under construction, 17Seventeen McKinney in Uptown, has been pre-certified to a Gold LEED level by the U. S. Green Building Council (USGBC).
The announcement was made by Greg Fuller, COO of Granite Properties. “We’re pleased that 17Seventeen McKinney is the first Gold LEED high-rise office building in the Dallas area,” he said. “Our team’s commitment to environmental stewardship and social responsibility has been confirmed through this process. Sustainable development through operating efficiency and environmental responsibility creates a healthier working environment. Tenants save a substantial amount of money in operating costs in buildings that meet these rigorous standards.”
David Cunningham, director of development for Granite, agreed. “Tenants today are educated, putting their employees first. They use words such as ‘efficiency, performance, environment and sustainable design’ to describe what they are seeking, all qualities signified by Gold LEED certification,” Mr. Cunningham said.
LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) Green Building Rating System is a third-party certification program and the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction and operation of high performance green buildings.
