Irving crime rate hits all-time low in 2008
Besting the previous year's record, in 2008 Irving managed an all-time low in crime rate (in recorded, Irving history). While many of the city's programs aimed at reducing crime have been criticized, the new numbers are leading some to rethink their position. A large initiative in 2008 targeted multi-family dwellings.
