Northpark Center security … a farce?
My wife and I did a dinner and a movie date at NorthPark Center last Saturday night. It was a 6 p.m. showing at AMC NorthPark, so by the time the movie let out it was dark outside. We parked under the parking deck next to Neiman Marcus. By the time we got back to the car, it was close to 9 p.m.
I didn't see one patrol, one cop on foot, or anyone in a cart patrolling the area. I thought security was beefed up after the shooting last year at the valet stand in front of the Kona Grill.
I found myself looking out for a woman who was pushing a baby stroller with another small child in tow; mostly because no one from security was anywhere in sight. This is not the first time this has happened.
There's plenty of security inside (to protect the goods), but almost none outside (to protect us once we purchase the goods).
Did I miss something? Are others having the same experience? Let me know.

Collin Gouldin, says:
Maybe they got layed off. Didn't the big companies that own the malls just go bankrupt?

I almost always see one of the Northpark security golf carts in the parking garage when I'm there. We tend to most often park at the garage on the east side by Macy's.

I didn't see one DP officer last night when walking the eight block loop last night with my dog. I live in an edge neighborhood where random gun shots, barking dogs, blaring music from passing cars, is a "cultural" style.
I wasn't mugged or otherwise accosted. Were you?

Rachel Skinner, says:
I usually park in the parking garage by Macy's, as well, but I always see some sort of golf cart patrol outside. And any time I leave, it's between about 8 and 10 at night. So any time I've been out there, I don't notice a lack of patrol at all.
