Arlington strip club Chicas Locas bites the big one
But wait! All their options have not yet been stripped away.
Chicas Locas has had its share of issues over the last couple of years, but that may soon be water under the sexually-oriented business bridge, because the City of Arlington has denied the owner's appeal to be exempted from its status as a nonconforming strip club.
not provided by Centerfolds Inc.
Our country was founded on the basis of non-conformity. Though I'm pretty sure that "sex & drugs" statute never made it into the Bill of Rights.
Sadly for the non-conformist business operators, a slew of Arlington cops showed up at the License and Amortization Appeals Board hearing on Friday (Jan. 30) to relate hair-raising tales about the club's propensity for serving as a venue for illegal sexual acts, the dealing of illegal substances and the serving up of enough alcohol that drivers pulled over miles away from the club claimed that they'd bent their elbows at that establishment. (To their hearts' content, presumably.)
While things may look gloomy for embattled Centerfolds Inc. (which entity owns Chicas Locas), the club is not yet stripped bare of options: they have filed an appeal in state district court and - says the company's attorney - will continue operating as usual.
Reminds us of another non-conformist in the national news.

South and Central Arlington(along 360 between 20 and 30)has been trying to clean up their rundown "ghetto" image ahead of the Cowboys arrival next fall. If they would implode the old Six Flags Mall area, then redevelop it as a place where everyone would want to shop or even congregate, I dont think you'd have these problems.
