The Collin County Observer has learned that District Judge Greg Brewer of the 366th District Court has sent a letter of resignation to Governor Rick Perry and County Judge Keith Self.
Sources at the courthouse have confirmed that Judge Brewer, who has served on the bench since 2007, resigned yesterday, effective September 1, 2009. According to county officials, Judge Brewer gave no reason for his resignation in his letter to Perry.
The Collin County Observer is attempting to get a copy of Judge Brewer's letter, and we will post it here.
For more than a year now the Observer has been working to substantiate rumors of a pending judicial ethics investigation involving Judge Brewer. It is not known whether his resignation is related to these rumored allegations.
Judicial ethics violations are investigated by the Texas Commission on Judicial Conduct. The commission's investigations are secret, unless and until public sanctions are imposed.

A friend of ours, Jane Doe, recently went through a divorce with a monster named Jiff. Jiff and Jane's own father who has a religious following in Greenville, TX teamed up and destroyed her life because she wanted to divorce Jiff. There are 3 children involved. The judge in this case decided against Jane and gave Jiff everything he wanted. Jane will appeal. After hearing the details of the settlement (including garnishing Jane's wage to pay Jiff child support) I want to vomit. Jiff makes at least 5 times her wage.
The Collin County judge's name is Greg Brewer. Brewer is currently making news right now because of an affair with a prosecuter as I read in the New York Times of all places. No mention of the affair in this article but this is an old article.
Just google or bing Greg Brewer to get a taste of what he is.

I also have friend who had almost an identical experience with this judge who appears to make questionable rulings. Who was Jiff's lawyer in this case?

This judge is an idiot. He doesn't make decisions base on legal fact--he has his hands down so many individuals pants that he thinks he is above the law. I hope someone goes after his law license! He should be brought to justice for the decisions he has made on the bench. I would jump on board any action to prosecute this arrogant a!
