Over 400 students at Lang Middle School in Dallas were required to retake the math portion of the TAKS test because of irregularities during the original test, but only about 100 showed up on Tuesday. The students who failed to appear may not be allowed to advance to the ninth grade since they must pass both portions of the test to do so.

What constitutes an "irregularity"? That sounds more important than students skipping a test.

Actually, looks like the TEA isn't saying anything, but apparently the kids did way better than expected.
Which, of course, is suspicious.

The Dallas Morning News this morning stated that most of the students showed up. Only 78 were no shows.
