Ramp from I-35 to Woodall Rogers in downtown Dallas will be shut down overnight Thursday
DALLAS The Texas Department of Transportation is allowing the closure of the ramp from northbound Interstate 35E (I-35E) to eastbound Woodall Rodgers Freeway from 8 p.m. Thursday, July 2 to 6 a.m. Friday, July 3.
The closure, which is weather permitting, will allow crews to set beams for a new ramp from northbound I-35E to the westbound Woodall Rodgers Extension.
Dallas Police will assist with the closure. Motorists should seek alternate routes, including I-30 to US 75.
The Woodall Rodgers Extension project is also expected to require occasional weekday I-35E closures of one to two lanes in both directions between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
The work is part of a $47.5 million project to extend Woodall Rodgers from I-35E to Beckley Avenue at Singleton Boulevard. The extension also will feature the $69.7 million Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge over the Trinity River. Both the bridge and the remainder of the Woodall Rodgers extension are scheduled to open in mid-2011.
