Arlington Mayor Robert Cluck to serve on advisory board of U.S. Conference of Mayors
At their annual meeting held in Providence, RI (June 12-15), the United States Conference of Mayors (USCM) selected Arlington mayor Robert Cluck to serve on that organization's advisory board.
The USCM is a nonpartisan organization of cities with populations of 30,000 or more. There are 1,139 such cities in the country today, each represented in the conference by its chief elected official, the mayor.
The advisory board consists of members of the USCM who are active in advocating policy on Capitol Hill.
Cluck stated: “As a member of the advisory board, I will continue to work to ensure that federal policy meets the urban needs of our communities, I will continue to help strengthen federal-city relationships as the official voice of America’s mayors in Washington.”
Mayor Cluck, who has been mayor of Arlington since 2003, is a busy guy: He holds memberships on boards and commissions which include the Arlington Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, North Texas Commission Clean Air Coalition, Texas Cities Clean Air Coalition, Tarrant Regional Transportation Coalition Executive Board, and North Texas Super Bowl XLV Host Committee Board of Directors. He is also vice president for Medical Affairs at Arlington Memorial Hospital, a position he has held since 2002.
