— Club Dada closed down on Wednesday after visits from the Dallas fire marshal and four Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission officers.

The bar manager opted to close the club for the rest of tonight. Wednesday night's shows, including the Kid Rock After Party with Jonathan Tyler and the Northern Lights, moved to the Doublewide.

If you call the number listed for Dada, it says that it's temporarily disconnected.

Whoa, so this is temporary, right?

Did TABC shove patrons or give anybody a concussion? Or is that only reserved for bars that have the word "Rainbow" in them?

Guess it depends on what they found. Note it wasn't shut down by those cats, manager made that call:

The venue will be closed for the rest of tonight--a decision made by Dada's bar manager, not the officers.

Necessary evil, imo. I'd rather have them than not.

Doyle- "...a decision made by Dada's bar manager, not the officers."

I wonder what could've possibly caused him to make that decision?
It might have just...seemed like a good idea at the time!

I was simply responding to concerns that it was permanent, Yost. Getting shutting down versus making the call on your own is key. =p

But I did enjoy this pic in linked article with the officer clearly waving his finger for it not to be taken:

Sucker!

Ha! Now there is one for the history books!

What a shame. Based on those comments it sounds like they need new ownership/management. I would hate to see it shut down for good.

Club Dada, what memories I have of playing that stage, drinking at that bar, and experiencing life in that place. I wish them the best of luck, whatever's goin' on!
