Michael Jackson’s one-time agent from Dallas says he won’t attend the memorial
DALLAS Michael Jackson's one-time agent and confidant, Nick Smith, of Dallas, said he is "heartbroken" by the passing of Michael Jackson. Smith will not attend Jackson's memorial service.
He has vowed to “continue Jackson's work -- spreading love and unity throughout the world.” But other than that, he's just trying to get the press to stop bugging him and is speaking in incomplete sentences: “I would ask that all members of the media respect the Jackson family’s privacy as they work through this very, very difficult time. Taking this opportunity to write positively and celebrate his legacy, light and love.”
Smith calls himself a friend and confidant to Jackson. He said this immediately following Jackson's death: "He was a kind and tender spirit and I am lucky to have shared experiences with him. My only regret is not being there to protect him during the final months, walking away when his 'comeback team' was forming, and allowing those who did not understand him to step in and take control." Seems like there's some sour grapes there about who stayed to be part of Jackson's "comeback team," which refers to the "This Is It" tour, scheduled to kick off this summer.
