Choir members from Fort Worth’s Broadway Baptist “uninvited” to Kentucky college event
Seems the Southern Baptist Convention recently severed ties with Fort Worth's Broadway Baptist Church, in part due to that congregation's acceptance of (openly) gay couples amongst their members.
Now, the Broadway Baptist youth choir has been "uninvited" to participate in a music and singing event at Kentucky's University of the Cumberlands, which had no issues hosting them on prior occasions.
So the high school choir members will take their music to Nashville instead -- and probably float a few bronx cheers in the direction of Kentucky on their way past.

I was appalled to see the narrow minded and unChristian stance of the SoBapConv. I sent email to the interim pastor of Broadway Baptist. Here it is: I was a delegate to the KY Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church. I spoke passionately for an amendment to our constitution to eliminate discrimination against ANYONE. A young woman spoke against it because she didn't want gays in her church. It was soundly defeated. I don't identify with the gay lifestyle. I don't condone it. But I will not sit in judgment of people who profess a love of God and Jesus, for ANY reason. The Methodist Church motto is Open Hearts, Open Minds, Open Doors. Unfortunately, many don't know what that means. Kinda like the Declaration of Independence We hold these truths to be self evident, that all men are created equal. It took almost 200 years to see that statement become reality. Hold to your principles, and Jesus'. I am sorry some of my Kentucky brethren are filled with fear and ignorance. We are a little backward, some of us. Pray for their enlightenment. God Bless those with the courage to stand up for what is right. Louisville Kentucky Methodist I am straight but I won't hate.
