My uncle owns the Wurst Wagon there. He said it was pretty busy for being a holiday weekend. Surprised not more people got hurt.

The WURST WAGON!!!
You're uncle is famous, dude!

Yeah, the vendors were pretty shaken up... duh!

What a terrible waste. The guy was a fixture down there. I'll miss him much more than any of the recent spate of celebs.

Bud! He's the guy with the whacky disco light nite-lites!

This is so upsetting.

In the past, you have probably handled my food.

Oh, sorry - your uncle - you meant.

Anyway - he's the Wurst Wagon. What more need you mention?

Wurst Wagon was def. an institution at First Saturday. I remember stopping by during the ross ave. days when I would go shopping for "grey" copies of Win 2000 and office. Its a shame that his life ended like this, I hope they catch the SOBs accordingly.

Aside from the Wurst Wagon, am I the only one that sees something wrong with this story? A 10 year old vendor? Typo, perhaps?

He was a vendor down there for 10 years.

Now burly ---

Dale was a great guy! I have worked down at the Sale with my father Ron Ivey and Mr. Weaver for about 5 years now. It was so horrible to see all that blood and to see them take him away. He was one of our nicest vendors down there at the Sale. We are going to miss him so much! I feel happy though that he is in a better place now! RIP DALE!

The following was e-mailed from a reader, Diana L. Swadley:

"You may recall that a Crime Stoppers report aired on Sunday night July 5, 2009 requesting the public's help in solving the senseless murder of Mr. Orsburn. I heard the story and my heart ached for his widow and I went on with my life until Monday morning when 2 Dallas Homicide Detectives came to my home wanting to speak to my teenage son. They took him downtown, questioned him and returned him home. The detectives were doing their job and I DO NOT begrudge them or Crime Stoppers. They were more than kind to me and my son and are convinced that my son and his friend had absolutely nothing to do with this murder.

This was the malicious, vindictive and detestable act of whom I believe to be a neighbor who has been harassing and stalking my family now for 4 years. I currently have a civil lawsuit against him and he continues to bully me, my children and the neighbors who support me.

The police detectives wasted an entire day investigating this bogus crime stoppers tip. Apparently this tip provided details that brought the officers to my front door. I am unable to see this crime stoppers report, because it is anonymous and illegal for anyone to provide a copy of it to me. I spent the whole day emotionally upset, distracted from my job and physically ill from this event. My son was more resilient, but was still burdened with the humiliation of being taken away in front of his friends and having detectives asking neighbors about him.

I would like to implore you to pursue criminal charges on this person for abuse of the Crime Stoppers program and bringing false witness against my son.

It was a waste of the Dallas Police Departments time and money It degrades the integrity of the Crime Stoppers program It brought false hope for justice to a grieving widow It brought distress to totally innocent parties It was wrong!!!"

That sucks, but how do you legally pursue someone for submitting anonymous tips? Aren't they supposed to remain ... anonymous?

Well that is the crazy stuff that is having an on location effect.....The trash shows up just after a recession's bottoms out, then the water goes out....leaving human driftwood on the beach....or jellyfish,

The Inner city is a fragile place, crazy people drift in and do as they please, kind of like the movie "Desperate Hours"....all we can do is be observant and protect our space and observe....."motion in frantic and eratic movement in second's"....passive or agressive....A/T,The Urban jungle and the Urban Pioneers.

Pavel..there are phone records and they never go away. The person could be arrested for interfering with a police investigation if it were found they submitted the false info on purpose..maybe.

This sort of stuff was getting hot from 1929 to 1934, when Dallas County became a beach for poor folk's to drift to and they brought their frustration with them.......they had to legalize beer by 1933,with the repeal act and folk's got cool again, while if they legalize pot by 2010, folk's would just chill from this melting chaos....

They say folk's possessed by the Devil do acts like this, it is evil .......to just drive by and killlll.....A/T,..Good people dont have to die,but some do....sad waste of life....

Well, I'm not asking about the technicalities. The point I was trying to make is that a case breaks where they track down an anonymous tipster, the whole incentive for calling an anonymous tip hotline evaporates - you're no longer anonymous.

This stuff is rare and then again,it could become a tide of trend's, have you been back North,I had and found the world we read is not the world that is while we had to pass a bed and stove on the freeway leaving the Bronx in 2001....and what a trip that is where the Hippie Hobo comment comes from,as for killing's,that is insane stuff......A/T, Hope for the best in the Metroplex and realize, and hope it is a rare event...
