— The public is invited to Dinner With the Dairymen, a unique dinner highlighting the richness and variety of North Texas foods at the annual meeting of the American Guernsey Association at the Renaissance Dallas Richardson Hotel, Saturday, July 11 at 6 p.m.

"We wanted to showcase the quality of food that is produced in North Texas to the hundreds of Guernsey breeders and owners from around the world who will be attending the meeting," said Todd Moore, owner of Lucky Layla Farms and local host for the event. "We decided to open up the dinner to the public so everyone can enjoy this one-in-a-lifetime opportunity."

The menu for the dinner was designed by Slow Food Dallas member and chef Claudine Martyn, and Renaissance Hotel Chef Rob Richards, who worked together to incorporate local producers.

The dinner will feature locally raised beef from Burgundy Pasture Beef and chicken from Windy Meadows Family Farm; vegetables from the McKinney Farmers Market; Texas cheeses from Lucky Layla Farms, Dallas Mozzarella Co., Veldhuizen Farms, and Pure Luck Farm and Dairy; and blackberries from Collin County.

The dinner is part of the 133rd annual meeting of the American Guernsey Association, which is holding its convention in Texas for the first time in over 50 years.

Tickets are $42 and can be purchased online. The Renaissance Dallas Richardson Hotel is located at 900 Lookout Drive in Richardson.
