UPDATED: Carrollton police believe incidents of stabbed woman and man hit by train are related

0

On July 6 at approximately 5:15 p.m., Carrollton police officers responded to a reported aggravated assault in the 2100 block of Highbury Rd.  When officers arrived, they found a female victim in her early 40s inside the residence, and she had been stabbed multiple times.  The victim was transported to Parkland Memorial Hospital where she was later pronounced dead.  Initial investigation indicates this is a family violence-related offense and the victim knew her attacker.  This offense is currently being investigated as a homicide.

Approximately one hour after responding to the aggravated assault, officers received a report of a deceased person by the Burlington Northern Railroad track between Frankford Rd and Peters Colony Rd.  Upon arrival, officers discovered a male subject, who appeared to be in his early 20s, deceased.  Injuries observed on the subject indicate the subject may have been struck by a passing train.

At this time, Carrollton police investigators believe the deceased subject found on the train tracks may have been involved in the Homicide on Highbury Rd.  Investigators are continuing their investigation into both deaths at this time.

UPDATED: According to this piece in the S-T, the man hit by the train was Robinson Chulo-Ascencio, 21, who was fleeing minutes after stabbing his mother, Ana Chulo-Ascencio. Injuries to Robinson's body indicated that he may have been trying to jump onto one of the trains and slipped.
