Burleson hospital to host mobile mammography unit

The unit will be in the Community Bank parking lot Wednesday, July 22.

A Texas Health Hospital mobile mammography unit will be in the Community Bank parking lot Wednesday, July 22. The Ccty of Burleson’s health and wellness committee, Community Bank, and Texas Health Hospital are hosting the outreach service.

The breast cancer screening mammograms are for women age 40 and over and for women ages 35 to 39 who want a baseline screening. The breast cancer screening mammograms are not for women with breast implants or who have current symptoms of breast disease. Those who are screened at the mobile unit should not have a personal history of breast cancer, not be pregnant or actively nursing, and the last mammogram should have been done at least 12 months prior to July 22.

The screening takes approximately 15 to 20 minutes. Films are read by a board-certified radiologist and the results are sent to the client and the designated physician. Call Texas Health Hospital at 877-847-9355 before July 17 to make an appointment. For more information about the mobile mammography unit, go to http://www.texashealth.org/body.cfm?id=2049.
