Texas Woman’s University professor chosen president-elect of Texas Counseling Association
Dr. Susan Adams, associate professor of counseling and development at Texas Woman’s University, recently was voted president-elect of the Texas Counseling Association.
The Texas Counseling Association provides leadership, advocacy, and education to promote the growth and development of the counseling profession and those who are served. With more than 6,000 members, TCA is the third-largest state branch of the American Counseling Association.
“Professional counselors have a strong organization in our state thanks to the vision and efforts of many,” Adams said. “I look forward to building on that vision as we continue to provide excellent education opportunities, a strong advocacy voice in Austin and Washington and mentorship for our future leaders.”
Adams will serve as TCA’s president-elect through July 2010, president from 2010-2011 and past-president the following year. She has been involved with the organization since 1997, and was named the 2008 Counselor Educator of the Year by the Texas Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (TACES), a division of the TCA.
