Heat squishes turnout for Mayfest fundraiser in Fort Worth
FORT WORTH The Save Mayfest fundraiser -- designed to get the festival back on track after it got canceled this year -- kindof flopped. Turnout was low, which organizers are blaming on the heat. Yeah, that's probably it, it was too hot.

Low turnout,..NOT because of the heat, it just was not in the press enough. Nobody seemed to even hear about this event. It should have been marketed better, showing clips of past Mayfest Events, even the big hailstorm from 1995. ANYTHING to spark an interest and to get the message across. Shame on the organizers for wasting volunteer's time and monies to help-out on this event. Should have thought it out better and gotten more press and title sponsors!! It is just that simple.
