Assassination City Roller Derby holding Derby Road event

What's part pillow fight, part prison brawl, and ALL hardcore sport? Assassination City Roller Derby, of course! This Saturday, July 18, the ladies of ACRD put the pedal to the metal in "Derby Road," the third bout of the 2009 Season. BYOB (no glass), bring your camping chair to be sure you get a good seat, and bring your appetite for destruction as you witness the thrills and spills of this double-header!

Bout 1 - The Deadly Kennedys (1-1) vs. Green Country Thunder Dollz (Tulsa, OK)

Bout 2 - The Lone Star Assassins (1-0) vs. The Bombshell Brigade (0-1)

Live music at halftime by Sparklepussy Barbie and DJ Sista Whitenoise.

And don't forget, the world famous Assassination City Roller Derby after party directly after the bout, only at Lee Harvey's.

Tickets to the bout, which benefits NationalCASA.org, can be purchased in advance for $12 at Plucker's on Greenville and Lovers Lane, HD Tavern in Lewisville, Dad's Broadway Skateland in Mesquite, or at acderby.com, or you can get your tickets at the door for $15. Kids 10 and under get in free. Doors at 7 p.m. at Dad's Broadway Skateland.

Those girls are back and better then ever, Man,... I love those tattoo's,and the way they do their around the curve roller thing,then heave ho...another one bite's the Roller Derby dust, then off to Parkland....oh well when girl's will be boys,and some girl's are great buds.....the guy's know, it is still fun...A/T, Love that Joker in the Big D Metroplex.....

Ive been to a few AC Derby events over the past few years, these gals know how to rough it up and throw elbows with the best of them, not to mention they're pretty easy on the eyes as well..;)

There's also a pre-bout tailgate starting at 5 pm in the parking lot across from the roller rink. The Lone Gunmen Roller Derby Booster Club have mentioned an interest in grilling out. So grab a hot dog and hang out before you go inside.
