Eating and drinking events in Dallas-Fort Worth July 15-21
See all Food and Wine events
Events this week are all clustered up on Thursday and Sunday, requiring the dedicated foodie to be in three places at one time. Come on, where's your stamina? Here's the week's top picks:
Thursday
Chipotle Mexican Grill is sponsoring free screenings of the critically-acclaimed documentary film Food, Inc. in select cities nationwide. The thought-provoking (rather than stomach-churning) food industry exposé draws attention to our compromised food supply and encourages us to start shopping more wisely.
Join winemaker Manuel Lozada of the Numanthia Termes winery in Spain's Toro region for a four-course wine dinner in The Mansion Library. Founded in 1998, the estate's three red wines have garnered all manner of critical acclaim. A Champagne reception begins at 7:15 p.m. followed by a four-course dinner created by executive sous chef Eric Brandt at 7:45 p.m.
Rombauer Vineyards Wine Dinner
Experience Napa county's finest wines paired with an unforgettable dinner featuring the season's best tomatoes.
Sunday
Summerfest 2009: Grillin’ and Chillin’ Lakeside Sunday Brunch
Pretty darn good brunch out at the Glass Cactus features all-you-can-eat shrimp, an omelet station, chilled salads, carved meats, fish tacos, items on the grill, and dessert selections. $25 for adults.
Come-As-You-Are wine dinner featuring Peter Spann
Special guest winemaker Peter Spann brings award-winning wines from his Spann Vineyards, complimented by a four-course menu prepared by chef/owner Brian Luscher. Featured wines will include Betsy's Backacher Bottle Blond (Semillon/Chardonnay blend), Mo Zin (Zinfandel/Mourvedre/Petite Sirah/Syrah blend), Charbono and Muscat Canelli.
