Today Newspapers 2.0 is on the way
We heard some of the rumblings here on these boards and apparently it is true: former Today Newspapers staffers are reviving the Suburban newspaper in some form. Apparently the Suburban will be a free publication delivered to 25,000 homes in Duncanville, Cedar Hill, DeSoto, Grand Prairie and Midlothian. Lancaster, where the Today paper went out of business twice, is conspicuously absent. I wonder how that’s going to go over at the next Best Southwest Chamber Luncheon.
Former Today ad salesperson Lisa Bradley will serve as publisher with former Today staffer Steve Snyder serving as an editor. The new publication plans to honor any contract rates that Today customers had in place. Well, color me curious. I can’t wait to see how or if this works.

Jon Ostrowski, says:
This will be like that "Brief" or whatever it is called delivered by the DMN in North Dallas to folks who don't even pay for it. I pick it up, never read it and put in in my recycling bin daily!

If we look up the word "stupid" we'll see that one definition is--doing the same thing a second time and expecting different results!! If the 1st issue and related is any indication of this "new" suburban newspaper's future, then, the above defined word is appropriate. The editor (from CH) wrote the article about Duncanville concerning the School Board selling property on Cedar Ridge and mentioned it was across the street from Sonic!! Really?? The 1st issue is dated July 16th, but wasn't seen by anybody until the 20th and the 2nd issue ain't been seen yet. Oh---don't try to look up their web site -- you'll get some folks up in Ohio. Hope they can get this worked out but I ain't holdin' my breath!!
