UPDATED: East Dallas apartment complex burns (again)

... and once again, arson is suspected.

UPDATED with photo gallery courtesy our friends at the Ferguson Road Initiative.

For the second time in six weeks, fire broke out at the Millennium Point Apartments at 2900 Dilido Rd. in East Dallas on Thursday (July 16).

Once again, there were no serious injuries resulting from the blaze, though about 50 people are now without homes. Once again, a female resident of the complex is under investigation on suspicion of arson.

This is the other side of my fence. Was a crazy scene with three choppers hovering overhead, blocked streets, etc.

To be clear, it was a different woman charged in the last fire.

From a neighborhood newsletter on 6/22/09 (ie: prior to this fire)

Homicide detectives are investigating a shooting that was reported Monday morning at the Millennium Pointe apartments in Far East Dallas. The unidentified victim — a 24-year-old woman — was found with a gunshot wound to her chest after shots were heard in the 2900 block of Dilido Road. Witnesses said the victim and another person had been arguing before the gunfire erupted. A Dallas Fire-Rescue ambulance took the patient to Baylor University Medical Center for treatment. The woman was said to have been seriously injured, but her condition was not available. Police also found a sport utility vehicle crashed into a fence in the apartment's parking lot near the shooting scene. No suspects were in custody.

The Millennium Pointe apartments were also the scene of a $500,000 fire less than a month ago. A tenant was later charged with intentionally setting the fire to collect benefits from the Red Cross. There was another fire at the complex in March, 2008.
