HCG Gallery to present As If Our Lives Depended on It

Sergio Garcia, partner in the Design District gallery, will be showcasing his artwork alongside several other artists.

HCG Gallery welcomes you to view an urban style, group exhibit entitled As If Our Lives Depended On It. Sergio Garcia, partner in the Design District gallery, will be showcasing his artwork alongside artists including Steve Javiel, John Wentz, Daniel Valadez, Michael Reeder, Nathan Madrid, and Luke Harnden.

Sergio Garcia, the G in HCG and an original member of the Kettle Art crew, got his start as an outlaw graffiti artist. He is now an established airbrush artist, who's work embodies realism. His art will be hung alongside pieces from several renowned San Francisco artists, among them John Wentz, a contemporary realist who draws inspiration from the writings of psychologist Carl Jung. Working in a variety of media, John's work explores the archetype of the hero, more specifically the superhero. Inspired by San Francisco's decaying walls, industrial sites and abandoned buildings, Steve Javiel's textured work is non-representational due to the abstraction of color, shapes, typography and forms of overlapping textures.

An Artist Reception will be held on Saturday, August 22 from 5 - 8 p.m. The exhibit, As If Our Lives Depended On It, will be on display from August 22 - October 3.
