Former Whole Foods on Lower Greenville target of thefts

21

The Whole Foods on Lower Greenville has been empty for less than six months, but it's attracting criminal elements to the neighborhood.

According to Dallas Police Report 0213677W, nearly $2,000 worth of equipment was reported stolen from the empty building on Tuesday afternoon. Among the items stolen were a pallet jack worth $500 and $400 worth of copper wire.

After nearly two years on the market, there is still no word on future tenants for this 35,000 square-foot building. Except for weekend self-parking, the building is rarely used during the day. There have been rumors the building was being used as a construction staging area for the new Whole Foods on Park Lane, but the amount of traffic does not support that report.

Russ Vandeveerdonk says:

Sad, that whole area is just "dead" now. Like a bomb went off or a chemical attack happened there, it just empty and dead. I recall the busy days of the Arcadia Theatre, Milk Bar, the Go Lounge, live bands and people milling about everywhere down there. Now it all is just a distant memory.

There is a name for that chemical attack - AVI. Isn't it amazing what consistant bad press can do?

Avi Adelman says:

@ JTMBLS

Yeah, bad press is what I write, and the bad guys read my blog every day to get ideas.

The Service Bar was burglarized on Tuesday - so you want to blame me for that incident, too?

Didn't I see you on a video burglarizing a plant center in Richardson the other day - it was a short, little monkey like character just like you.

LGresident says:

How do they allow Avi to get his stupid articles publish on pegasus. Is pegasus really that desperate for stories? This idiot has no job, no education, no credibility, no money, and no friends or family.

Mike Orren says:

LGresident, this is a question we've answered many times. Anyone who writes about their local neighborhood is welcome -- we pick which posts we think are worth your attention. We (and frankly the larger news outlets) don't have the resources to cover every single thing ourselves, so we're glad of the help. I'd think that whatever you think of Avi's advocacy activities, you'd want to know about crime in your neighborhood.

Avi Adelman says:

The problem with LGresident is that despite his best efforts, the world still continues to spin on an axis, the sun rises and sets on a regular basis, and life continues no matter how much he bitches about it.

In summary, he does not like seeing anyone upset his narrow-minded view of the world (bars are good, residents are evil).

Even if Mike Orren was not picking up these stories, there's not a damn thing he can do to shut down my website and he is absolutely furious about that little fact.

There's nothing he can do to stop the march of Resident Parking Only (26 and counting) streets in Dallas.

And there's not a damn thing he can do about me either.

He is the real loser in this story, a silly POS who would rather see the world turn into a giant toilet than a place where even basic rules of behavior and decorum are obeyed.

For the record, all your claims are whimsical garbage. And I have three beautiful daughters, all of whom have learned the value of political activism and will haunt you, your children and your grandchildren for generations to follow.

Avi is such a tough guy! He is probably trying to compensate for some other shortcoming in his life.

Avi Adelman says:

@ Tex0322

Why compensate for anything??

As Exhibit A, let me present - you and all your pissant buddies.

You really really hate me not for anything personal (as if I would even bother to know you) but for doing some kind of damage to your oh-so-important playground on Lowest Greenville.

If I was not successful, you would not give me 2cents worth of your attention.

Obviously whatever I am doing here is working, and hence you cry in your $1 beer.

So let's agree - I will keep doing what I am doing, and you will keep crying.

I'm actually not crying. I am laughing. You are a big crybaby. I would never want to know a scumbag like yourself in my personal life.

I think I'm going to take my video camera down there and follow Avi around and videotape everything he does. He is such a badass it would be comical.
