Cowboys Stadium gets grass field for Chelsea FC, Club America soccer game
Not certain why they didn't roll this out for last weekend's double header, but Dallas Cowboys Stadium is getting a little dose of nature as crews install a grass playing surface. The Bermuda grass from Tioga, Texas is only expected to last four to six days and is being installed for the Chelsea vs. Club America World Football Challenge Match.
Noting that international teams most often expect to play on an organic surface, the stadium shelled out more than $125,000 to put the field in. After the game, the grass sections will be donated to a charity. Whatever charity out there that needs tons and tons of grass.

Hey, I'm going to the game...maybe I should take a trailer to haul some grass back with me? I only need about 100sqft for a couple of bare spots in my yard. It could definitely use some charity.

Oh, that's a good point, Travis. How cool would it be to have a front yard that Chelsea FC played on?

It turns out that the grass was donated to the Hispanic Youth Program in Dallas County. They started a soccer program some years ago.

I played soccer when I was younger at the Y. I was the only hispanic kid on there and the rest of the team was white. I was the worst player on the team...

No, no tacos. I ended my craving for some not too long ago. I hardly ever eat tacos anymore.
