Over 100 gather in Dealey Plaza for Iran human rights rally Saturday

Dallas held one of 80 events yesterday coordinated worldwide to protest Iran's human rights abuses. 100 people gather for the rally that was held in Dealey Plaza. Artificial green and yellow flowers each bared five names of Iranian citizens believed to have been killed or abused in Iranian prisons. According to an announcement sent out prior to the event, organizers intended to call attention to four demands made to the Iranian government:

These demands include the release of all prisoners of conscience, an end to state-sponsored violence, the freedoms under the Iranian constitution, and that organizations give concern to the human rights of the people as a matter of international concern.

I was in Dealey Plaza Saturday, I saw this, it was quite a demonstration and very colorful. These were a passionate group of people who were there protesting, I support thier cause AND the freedom to gather and get thier voices heard.

Bill Holston, says:

I was there as well. I was struck by the idea that they were not supporting any specific party in Iran, but calling for the respect of human rights. I was proud to lend my voice and presence to theirs.
