Richardson High, UTD alum swims English Channel
Sophie Rutenbar was a Richardson High School swimmer and went on to the University of Texas at Dallas. After receiving the school's first ever Marshall Scholarship she moved to England to study at the London School of Economics.
Earlier this month Rutenbar swam the English Channel in 14 hours, 33 minutes. In addition to achieving her swimming goal, she also hoped to raise money and awareness for the Congo branch of the International Rescue Committee.
