Dallas-based Heritage Auction Galleries sells Dillinger derringer for $95K
Heritage Auction Galleries in Dallas expected to get something north of $35,000 from the auction of a Remington .41 rimfire derringer taken from the sock of John Dillinger on the occasion of his capture by lawmen in Tucson in 1934.
Thanks to the dogged acquisitiveness of a gun collector in Los Angeles, the diminutive handgun ended up fetching $95,000 at the auction, held on Saurday, July 25.
