0

The Elite International Orchestra, which is sponsored by the Texas Performing Chinese Arts Association (TPCAA) and conducted by David Wong, will present its 2009 Elite Astonishing Chinese Traditional Instrumental Ensemble series, four concerts starting on July 31 at Dallas' Latino Cultural Center. It will be followed by performances on August 1 at Elite Performing Arts Center of Plano, August 7 at McKinney Performing Arts Center, and August 8 at Elite Cultural Center of Richardson. The first three events are all at 7:30 p.m., with the Richardson event starting at 3 p.m. The program will feature Chinese traditional instruments (pi-pa, Zheng, Hullusi, Sanxian, Er-Hu, Gao-Hu, Bamboo Flute, Ba-Wu) by four performers.

The TPCAA is a non-profit organization founded by David Wong in 1991. Its home -- the Elite Performing Arts Center -- provides a variety of language and multi-disciplinary music programs for both the local community and the Greater Dallas metropolitan area. The center’s orchestral training program is open to musicians of all ages and levels of musicianship. Tickets for the Chinese dazzling instruments show (General $10) are available at several stores in Dallas. To order tickets online, visit www.mckinneyperformingartscenter.org. For more information, contact David Wong, Executive director/conductor of TPCAA, at (972) 818-6888 or naeyo2001@yahoo.com.
