Dale Hansen walks away from ESPN 103.3 FM
Dale Hansen, a much loved and less-than-loved sports voice in Dallas-Fort Worth, has walked away from his nightly "Hour of Hansen" on ESPN's 103.3 FM.
Hansen explained to the Dallas Observer that things at ESPN weren't great. In addition to him feeling burnt out, he agreed to a new contract with the radio station that gave him much lower pay. Then they never delivered him the actual contract to sign.
But the final straw was last Wednesday when the station sent out a memo saying it would not cover the Ben Roethlisberger civil suit. When Hansen didn't get the memo he talked about it on-air until he was notified during a commercial break. Afterward he tendered his resignation.
ESPN was, of course, not his only gig, as the main source of Daledom comes from his work with WFAA.
