Arlington Green Team members get big-time recognition at the Ballpark on July 30

The Minimizer

The Minimizer

Companies participating in the City of Arlington's Green Team program (which means they've committed to recycling three different materials, and to tracking/reporting annually on the amount of materials they've recycled) will be recognized in great big letters this Thursday evening (July 30) during the Texas Rangers game at the Ballpark in Arlington.

Participants in the program will see their organization's name posted on the center field scoreboard, and employees attending the game will each receive Green Team t-shirts.

Perhaps the highlight of the evening (depending on how the ballgame goes) will be the appearance on the field of The Minimizer, Arlington's recycling mascot, who will do his or her ceremonial duty by throwing out the first pitch. And if that's not reason enough to attend the game (I mean, aside from the baseball), a recycling-related, 30-second public service announcement starring Rangers left-fielder David Murphy will be featured.

Game time is 7:05 p.m.; the Seattle Mariners will be on hand to actually play ball once the preliminaries are completed.
