Dallas attorney Marcos Ronquillo receives President’s Award from Dallas Hispanic Bar Association
DALLAS Marcos G. Ronquillo, chief operating officer and managing shareholder of Dallas-based Godwin Ronquillo PC, has been selected to receive the 2009 President’s Award from the Dallas Hispanic Bar Association.
The award will be presented to Ronquillo by current DHBA President Christie M. Villarreal during the Fourth Annual Lighting the Path to Legal Education dinner on Sept. 30, 2009, at the Belo Mansion. The Lighting the Path to Legal Education dinner is the DHBA’s annual fundraiser benefiting the Dallas Hispanic Bar Association Scholarship Foundation.
“It is with deep admiration that I am presenting Mr. Ronquillo with the 2009 President's Award,” says Villarreal, a senior attorney with AT&T Services, Inc., and formerly of Godwin Ronquillo. “He has been a mentor to countless DHBA members, a generous sponsor to DHBA events, and a personal friend of mine for many years.”
Ronquillo, a former president of the DHBA, was selected for the award in recognition of his contributions to Dallas’ Hispanic legal community. He has received numerous honors in recognition of his work in furthering diversity efforts, including being named among the 2009 top minority business leaders in Dallas / Fort Worth by the Dallas Business Journal. Ronquillo is a former chairman of the Greater Dallas Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
“The work of the Dallas Hispanic Bar Association in supporting and helping elevate its members and the Hispanic community as a whole is exceptionally important,” says Ronquillo. “To receive an award from them in recognition of my work is especially meaningful because their standard for success is so high.”
