Kavala Mediterranean Grill in Dallas’ Bishop Arts closed down for the week

Diners in search of a meal at Kavala Mediterranean Grill this week are going hungry. The Bishop Arts restaurant is closed down until Tuesday, August 4, says a message that was added to their phone sometime early Wednesday.

I say "early Wednesday" because there was no recording on Tuesday night, determined after repeated calls to the restaurant. A gently inquiring email was then sent Tuesday night at 7 p.m., asking for one of the mom-and-pop owners to give a call. That email request did not generate a return call, but then on Wednesday at 12 noon, the phone at the restaurant had the message. The message that said, "We will be closed from Monday July 27 until Monday, August 3, and will reopen for lunch on Tuesday, August 4, at 11 o'clock." Must be a little vakay, then.

It would have been really nice if they had put a sign on the door or window. Took a friend there for pizza at 5:30 on Wednesday. I had raved about Kavalah. We drove up and there were no cars. Looked in and there were no people. No food. Wondered if it was closed??
