Kay Bailey Hutchison will resign senate seat to focus on gubernatorial campaign
We already knew she's running for Texas governor. But Kay Bailey Hutchison takes it a step further, saying that she will resign her U.S. senate seat in about four month's time to focus on her gubernatorial campaign.
In resigning her post, Hutchison also believes that Perry, seeking 15 years in office with his next bid, should not run again. Her office conceded that if Perry were to drop out, Hutchison might not end up leaving her senate seat so soon.

Quitting is trendy for GOPers, but not trendy enough, IMO.

Hmm. Those actually look pretty appealing for SEO.... think I'd steal 'em rather than complain about 'em if I were the Perry camp.

I can't help it. Her work with John Cornyn to defund the border fence (I'm sorry, it was important to me) turned me off to the woman forever. I wont vote for her and I really dont want to vote for Rick Perry either. Can't we get someone else?? I'm not about parties, I'm about whats best for Texas and these two arent (And neither is Kinky - nice man but not a politician)

You mean that you dislike her because she's against a fence?
A fence spanning the whole south border of Texas has always seemed like a ridiculous idea to me.

Best reason to vote for him, imo.

I agree with Pavel. BTW, is no one going to call me out on Dolph Briscoe still being alive? I expected more of the people on here.

I know Im a bit of a radical but how about a nice guy/girl with some business experience who might know a little something about running a company rather than just about making cute little comments and singing songs. As for her decision on the fence. The defunding was done after the fact, by way of something slipped into an unrelated bill. If you are going to vote against something 50% or more of your supporters agree with, at least have the cajones to do it in the light and give a reason. Back door politics - about ANYTHING will cause me to pull my support immediately. She has done it several times as has Cornyn. Thats why I wont vote for either one. And again thats why I hate Rick Perry - the king of back door, whats in it for me, how much can you give me, how big will my bank account become - politics.

True, I'll admit that Kinky hasn't really shown that he can run a government.
But then again, we had Bush running the state, and we're still here somehow. I always try to vote for the less incompetent.
But I see your point, and you're definitely right.
And yeah, I suppose that if a fence is going to get built, you should at least not fiendishly undermine it to try and stop it.

I'll be voting for the Kinkster, as he's about the only honest one out there. Anything is better than a KBH or Goodhair-rant Texas.

I agree with Peter on Hutchison and I wonder what ya'll think about her getting Washington to give Texas $5 million to put on I-69 which I think was the NAFTA Highway route. It just happens to meet up with the Port-to-Plains route in Laredo. See this link to show how it connects Mexico to Canada.

Here's the Port-to-Plains map.
