US 175 service road southeast of Dallas will be one-way on Monday

0

The Texas Department of Transportation will be re-striping and signing the US 175 service roads from two-way on both sides of the highway to one-way between SH 34 and FM 1388 on Monday, August 3. Both of the service roads will take up a single direction. The north side service road will be westbound and the south side will be eastbound.

The work will begin at 9 a.m. Monday with seal coating and re-striping the pavement. Signs will be installed and two traffic signals will be activated at the SH 34 and US 175 intersection. The work should wrap up by 3 p.m. that day and the road will begin operating as one-way on each side of the highway when it is re-opened that afternoon.

The signals will initially be turned on to “flash” mode for three days to make the public aware of the changes. It will begin regular signal operation on Friday.

“The traffic signals were warranted, and converting the service roads to one-way will allow more efficient operation of the intersections,” said Darwin Myers, Kaufman County area engineer.

This project is weather permitting.
