— Galleria Dallas and the Houston Galleria are together again. Effective August 1, Galleria Dallas will be managed by Simon Property Group, Inc., which also owns and manages the Houston Galleria. Ownership of Galleria Dallas has not changed and all key personnel at the shopping center will make the transition along with Simon, and will remain in the same positions.

"We are enthusiastic about the advantages brought to the table by Simon Property Group, the largest public retail real estate company in the world," notes Galleria Dallas Director of Marketing & Business Development Angie Freed. "Having Galleria Dallas and the Houston Galleria managed under the same portfolio provides great synergy and advantages to both properties in terms of leasing and strategic partnerships."

Galleria Dallas is enjoying ongoing development by new tenants to the center. Forever 21 is completing a 30,000 square foot flagship store featuring its newest concepts, and will be open later this fall. St. Croix, a luxury menswear retailer, will open its first Texas store at Galleria Dallas in September. In late August, Genghis Grill will open as part of Galleria Dallas' collection of rink-side cafes.

"By assuming the management functions of Galleria Dallas, Simon Property Group will build a great alliance between these two unique, high-quality properties. We are pleased to be able to bring our resources and experience with the Galleria in Houston to our new relationship with Galleria Dallas," said Leslie Swanson, portfolio vice president, Simon Property Group.

Chris Kidd, says:

My question is will simon improve the quality of the place, as it feels like a mausoleum similar to what Northpark did before the remodel. Are we going to see a better mix of actual places people shop/eat compared to places they just gawk at?
