Woman’s knitting needles draw the official attention of Fed guard at Balch Springs Social Security office
While use of the word "ordeal" might be magnifying the nature of the trauma involved in the incident, one still has to sympathize with Rachel Vines, who -- while waiting in the queue at a Balch Springs Social Security office -- was ordered to take her knitting needles outside by an armed security guard who thought they posed a threat to building occupants.
The guard involved is employed by the Federal Protective Service -- i.e., Homeland Security.
