Arlington Animal Services Center receives blood cell diagnostic device
Thanks are due to Dr. Chris Jenkins and Dr. Barry Brier of Creature Comforts, an Arlington-based veterinary clinic, who have donated a CBC (complete blood count) analyzer to Arlington's Animal Services Center.
The $10,000 device will provide important diagnostic blood cell count information so that animal healthcare professionals - such as the Center's on-site veterinarian, Dr. Gail Rapport - can better evaluate symptoms and diagnose health conditions of the animals under their care.
Said District 2 City Council Member Sheri Capehart: “The Animal Services Center has received broad-based community support, and this donation from Creature Comforts is another wonderful example of community partnerships. Our goal is to adopt more animals to permanent homes, knowing as much as we can about the health of the animal for a successful adoption. We are grateful for this much-needed donation and for all the relationships we have with animal caregivers in our community.”

This is a wonderful move by the good Doctors Jenkins and Brier. Kudos to you men for going above and beyond your civic duties by contributing such a large donation to our proud city. This will benefit many animals and humans over a span of considerable years. We thank you.
