Fort Worth’s 2009 Van Cliburn Competition announces six finalists
FORT WORTH — Cliburn 2009 announced the six finalists (from 12) on its Facebook page as follows:
The six finalists are:
Evgeni Bozhanov, Bulgaria, 25
Yeol Eum Son, South Korea, 23
Nobuyuki Tsujii, Japan, 20
Mariangela Vacatello, Italy, 27
Di Wu, China, 24
Haochen Zhang, China, 19
The finals will run from Wednesday June 3 to Sunday June 7, and takes place at Bass Performance Hall in downtown Fort Worth. The six finalists will each perform a 50-minute solo recital and two concerti with the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, led by Maestro James Conlon.
The awards ceremony will be on June 7, with the announcement of winners and presentation of awards.
