Sprayground at Ferguson Park opens with Family Fun Day on June 6
WHITE ROCK HILLS Via the Ferguson Road Initiative folk:
I've just been advised that the long awaited and much anticipated Sprayground at Ferguson Park has opened. Hours will be 10am-8pm daily. If you haven't seen one in operation, here's your chance. Kids love them! The City is planning a Family Fun Day to kick off the summer on June 6th from 10am-2pm. I'm told there will be music and refreshments. You may remember last summer's crypto scare. Our park uses an advanced designed filtration system that filters the water each time it is recycled thus eliminating any issues related to water borne illnesses.
For those who don't know where Ferguson Park is located, it adjoins Truett Elementary between Inadale and Gross Roads just off Peavy and Sorrento, behind Bishop Lynch High School. Councilwoman Carolyn Davis will be there to greet the youngsters and families as we launch into summer in the City. The City will also complete a walking path around the park later this summer.
Special thanks and recognition to former Councilman Leo Chaney for his work years ago to get these park improvements in our neighborhood.
Also for the first time, Ferguson Park will be site of a "Send A Kid to Camp" site.
