Kids and family events in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, June 3-9

June has arrived in full force, which means that kids will now need something to do every single day. Luckily, we're here to help. On tap this week are rockers with a gross name in Arlington, a plethora of outdoor movies, chalk art in Southlake, Beach Boys music in Plano, and camps galore.

Tonight (Wednesday, June 3), rockers The Boogers will perform at the Levitt Pavilion for the Performing Arts in Arlington. Though the name may connote something disgusting, the Boogers' music is all about combining education and rock.

Now that school is (almost) out, communities are ramping up their outdoor movie-watching experiences. On Thursday, June 4, you can watch My Big Fat Greek Wedding in Sundance Square in Fort Worth and E.T. at Watters Creek at Montgomery Farm in Allen. On Friday, June 5, Addison will show Back to the Future in Addison Circle Park, while Mesquite will screen The Dark Knight at City Lake Park.

On Saturday, June 6, Central Market in Southlake will host the 1st Annual Summer Chalk Art Festival. Benefiting the Rocky Top Therapy Center, it's a chance for kids and families to check out amazing chalk artists and unleash a little of their own creativity as well.

Also on Saturday is Surf the Bowl at Oak Point Amphitheater in Plano. While kids may not know who The Beach Boys are, an outdoor concert by cover band Still Surfin' is likely to fit the bill for a night of wholesome entertainment.

Finally, since kids will be out of school come Monday, summer camps are starting up all over the place. Among many others, the University of Texas at Dallas will host a Baseball Camp, Basketball Camp, Soccer Camp, and Tennis Camp, Perry Animal Care Center in McKinney will hold a Critter Camp, giving kids a chance to play with animals, and Milestone Culinary Arts Center in Dallas will hold a Teen's Summer Cooking Camp.
