Strap on your dog collar and head on down to the Granada this Sunday at 6 p.m. for the fifth annual Pet Flix Film Festival.
Sponsored by VCA Animal Hospital Company and presented by Hill's Science Diet, proceeds from the fun-filled, tail-wagging event will benefit the SPCA of Texas and the homeless critters under their care.
Emceeing the evening's film presentations will be Rick O'Bryan of Mix 102.9, which station is also an event sponsor. Celebrity film judges include James Bias, President of the SPCA of Texas; Dr. Jean Marie Stanley of VCA Sandy Lake Animal Hospital; the venerable Gary Cogill of WFAA-TV; Larry Powell of readlarrypowell.com and Urban Animal Magazine; and Martha Powell of the World Advisory Council.
Short films in the offing feature animals of all ilks (well, many ilks - they're not going for Noah's Ark here), and reflect a range of genres in their production, including dramas, mysteries, parodies, music videos and comedies.
In case you get a hankerin' for a pooch or kitty while you're attending the show, actual pets will be there on site for potential adoption by teary-eyed filmgoers.
