FC Dallas today announced that the team’s 19 remaining regular season games will air locally on 1540 AM ESPN Deportes Radio, beginning with the Sunday, June 7 contest versus the San Jose Earthquakes, live at 2 p.m. CT from Pizza Hut Park.

Jamie Walzel

“We are very excited to form this new partnership with ESPN Deportes Radio, a true leader in the world of sports broadcasting,” said Eduardo Carvacho, FC Dallas Senior Director of Hispanic Sales and Marketing. ”It is the logical place for us to be right now. This gives FC Dallas a great partner in ESPN, as both organizations are committed to our Hispanic community in the DFW Metroplex. This also allows our Spanish-speaking fans to continue listening to FC Dallas radio broadcasts on the same signal on which they have aired for the past few seasons.”

FC Dallas’ Spanish-language radio broadcasts had previously aired on 1540 AM KZMP La Ranchera from 2007 until May 31, 2009. However, ESPN Deportes recently acquired the 1540 AM signal from Liberman Broadcasting and began airing its programming on June 1. In addition to now carrying FC Dallas games locally, ESPN Deportes Radio also broadcasts the Major League Soccer Game of the Week to a national radio audience.

Veteran play-by-play announcer Carlos Alvarado, who has been the Spanish voice of the team for each of the first 13 seasons, will continue to call the games along with color commentator Rafa Calderon. Each broadcast will include a 30-minute pre- and post-game show.
