FCC holding community outreach events to ease digital TV transition

Email Print Tell us your story Comment

With only a week left until final transition to digital television (DTV) on June 12, the FCC is hosting multiple community outreach events to help North Texans be DTV-ready.

On June 12, older TV sets, without internal digital tuners that rely on "over the air" broadcasting with an antenna (set-top or rooftop) to receive a signal, will be affected by the cutoff of analog broadcasts on June 12. Individuals with TV sets meeting these criteria must take action now to prevent service interruptions following the DTV transition on June 12.

FCC representatives will be available to answer consumer’s questions about the DTV transition and help sign them up to receive up to two $40 coupons toward the purchase of a set-top converter to continue watching FREE "over-the-air" television on an analog set.
