“Wildlife” to blame for expensive damage to Carrollton homeowners’ electronics, says Oncor
Referring to the damages caused to Carrollton residents' electronic gear by power surges as an "act of God," a spokesperson for Oncor denied company responsibility for the damages.
That's because, Oncor says, a huge nest of fire ants in a transformer caused the surges. And fire ants are wildlife. And wildlife are, one might argue (particularly if one were speaking for Oncor), beyond the purview of a power company.
Meanwhile, garage door openers, dishwashers and microwaves continue to fail.
